if you believe in praying…

I’ve posted little about my family, this blog mainly “keeps track” of my knitting / crochet “madness”.  This post is an exception.  I wish I could introduce a very special young couple, new parents to Sadie Joan (born 7/10/08 ) and to big sister “Becca” who will be two in early November.  Keith, my eldest nephew is currently in the process of being a credentialed teacher, and it is his wife Cara I am asking prayers for.  She has been recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  Of all the cancers to get, we are told, this is one of the most treatable.  But it still is unfair I think for such a young person, a parent of two such young daughters, to be struck with such a burden.  Keith and Cara both have very positive attitudes and a very strong faith which I’m sure will get them through this “bump” in the road, but still, if you pray at all in your life, I would ask you to pray for this young family.

my new “niece” Holly

Posted on July 17, 2008. Filed under: family pets |

Some of you may recall my earlier post here about my brother Mike and his family having to put their dog, Sugarbelle, to sleep 5/13/08. They have now adopted another dog, Holly. So far, Holly seems to have a hard time with younger men and male teenagers. Hopefully, she will learn to trust my nephew Chad and his friends.

Tribute to Sugarbelle

Sugarbelle (called Belle for the most part, Belber, or Belle Belle) is my brother Mike’s dog (my “niece”).  She is very sick right now with Evan’s Syndrome ( and will more than likely not be with us long.  I’ve rarely met an animal I didn’t love, wish I could say the same for some people I’ve met.
Belle, you are a sweet pup and will be sorely missed by your parents, Mike and Debbie, and your big brothers, Keith, Kirk and Chad.  You will also be sorely missed by me and your other loving auntie, Kirsten.  Hope there are lots of green meadows for you to run in, balls to catch and retrieve, fish ponds to jump in, and several small furry things you can chase all day (without harming any of them) when you cross over the Rainbow Bridge into Happy Hound Heaven.  6/18/08: EDITED TO ADD  I just found out that Sugarbelle was indeed put to sleep on 5/13/08.  Hugs to “dad” Mike and “mom” Deb and “brothers” Keith, Kirk, and Chad.
