Yet ANOTHER crochet afghan pattern (yes the yarn too) ordered

I just got the Annie’s Attic catalog in yesterday’s mail, and this afghan book caught my eye immediately. If the site below won’t come up, just go to the main site and search on 839441. I went online and ordered the book plus the Simply Soft yarn in the colors it calls for. The name, Single Crochet Entrelac Bargello Diamond Afghan, is a mouthful, I know, but still, I HAVE to make it.

I think (for once, and this is rare for me) THIS afghan will be MINE instead of a charity afghan. This is of note because VERY FEW afghan patterns in “my collection” (if you could see my ‘barely seismically stable bookshelf’ you would know what I meant LOL) meet “that” criteria (MINE MINE MINE).

The only other afghan I have the yarn/pattern ready to make that falls into “that category”, is the stained glass window square afghan, the cover pattern of 50 Sensational Crochet Afghans and Throws book (edited by Bobbie Matela). Amazon’s link no longer shows a picture, which is a shame, because it is the cover that “made” me buy the book. Only because it requires SO MUCH WORK that it HAS to be mine; because I think I would quite literally kill the recipient if their level of gratitude wasn’t as high as I think it should be LOL

The afghan I’d LIKE to keep I can’t post about here because the intended recipient MIGHT read about it LOL

Sweaters I will be selfish and make only for me (who else can I wake up at 2am for a fitting??) I once made a crocheted sweater (can’t name the recipient, they might be reading this) some years back. They opened the box, pulled it out, looked at it, and put it back in the box without telling me a DAMNED THING. Never saw them wear it. This is when I stopped making sweaters for other people.

THAT GOT ME PISSED. As any of my family members, and boyfriend, will attest to THAT AIN’T SAFE, FOLKS LOL I only pray I can be polite if ever they ask me why I don’t make them anything anymore. THEY MIGHT GET MY HONEST OPINION, AND BOY, WILL THAT STING….
